Martin Drew's LCD
A true legend of the British jazz scene, Martin is a drummer of international renown with 5 decades of experience in the music business. He rose to prominence in the 1970's as a member of Oscar Peterson's band - touring and recording with him for 30 years. During this time he was also a member of Ronnie Scott's band until his death in 1996. To list the other names that Martin has played with would take up too much space - needless to say it is a veritable who's who of modern jazz history. Currently, Martin leads "The New Couriers", a band dedicated to the memory of Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes and other jazz legends. Tonight, Martin brings his trio, LCD, to Boaters, featuring Chris Laurence on double bass, and Mornington Lockett on tenor sax.

Mark is probably the finest trombone player of his generation. His prodigious talent was recognised at the age of 15 when he won the Don Lusher award, and soon after he became the lead trombonist in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He has firmly established himself on the international jazz scene, and has worked with such American greats as Clark Terry, Lee Konitz and George Shearing. He is a fixture in many of the big bands that you see on TV and also works regularly with the likes of John Dankworth, Cleo Laine and Stan Tracey.
